Abstract Waste is an increasingly significant environmental concern in Singapore light of the shortening lifespan nation's Semakau Landfill, which expected to reach full capacity by 2035. In order provide a fresh perspective on age-old problem waste management and open different conversations regarding waste, we posit that obscurement promotes production desensitizing Singaporeans their disconnecting them from problem. This article aims uncover factors contribute explicate how this disconnects waste. Through qualitative interviews field observations substantiated secondary data, seeks study intangible tangible factors—educational, sociocultural, situational—exert collective influence hinder adoption minimization practices.
